What to Write

You don't need elaborate entries. A useful journal entry contains:

  • Date
  • Question or intention
  • Cards drawn (positions if applicable)
  • First impressions — before looking anything up
  • Interpretation — what you believe the cards mean in context
  • How it unfolded — added later, once you see how the reading played out

That last field — how it unfolded — is optional but invaluable. Coming back to add it creates a feedback loop that rapidly develops your accuracy and confidence.
