Cards 12–15: Transformation
XII — The Hanged Man
Suspension, surrender, new perspectives. He hangs willingly — his expression is serene. Sometimes you must stop and see things differently. Upright: pause, surrender, new perspectives. Reversed: stalling, resistance.
XIII — Death
The most misunderstood card in tarot. Death almost never means physical death — it means transformation, endings, and necessary change. Upright: endings, transformation, transition. Reversed: resistance to change, stagnation.
XIV — Temperance
Balance, patience, moderation. An angel pours water between two cups — finding the perfect flow. Upright: balance, patience, purpose. Reversed: excess, imbalance, lack of purpose.
XV — The Devil
Bondage, materialism, addiction, shadow. Two figures are chained — but the chains are loose. They could leave any time. Upright: shadow, addiction, materialism. Reversed: freedom, releasing chains, awakening.
