Reading for Others

Reading for other people is a profound responsibility. Here's how to do it well:

Before the Reading

  • Set clear intentions — you're here to help, not impress
  • Ask what they want from the reading — clarity? validation? direction?
  • Agree on the question together

During the Reading

  • Describe what you see before interpreting — let them participate
  • Ask clarifying questions: "Does this resonate with something?"
  • Speak in possibilities, not certainties

After the Reading

  • Leave them with agency — what can they do with this information?
  • Don't extend the session to cover every possible angle
  • Suggest journaling or reflection
